Chef Mickey’s is one of the most popular character meals at Walt Disney World. Located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, you can watch the monorail zoom by as you enjoy breakfast or dinner with some of your favorite Disney characters.
Chef Mickey’s is open for breakfast (7:00 am – 11:30 am) and dinner (5:00 pm – 9:30 pm) with characters appearing at both. Prices range from $30 to $59.99 for adults and begin at $19 for children. Breakfast is typically the cheapest time to dine and prices can vary during holidays and peak times of year. Chef Mickey’s is also on the Disney Dining Plan and is one credit per person. Since this is such a popular spot advanced dining reservations are highly recommended.
The buffet features contemporary American cuisine. For breakfast you can find made to order pancakes, Pixie Dusted Challah French Toast, Pluto’s Cheese Blintz, Minnie’s Breakfast Pizza, Garden Vegetable Quiche, breakfast potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, assorted pastries, and cereals, and everyone’s favorite Mickey waffles!
Dinner features items like Thai-Curry & Chipotle BBQ Chicken, Spiced Rubbed Sirloin of Beef, Seasoned Salmon Filet with a Mango Chutney, Orecchiette Pasta, Mickey-Shaped Cheese Ravioli with Marinara, Steamed Broccoli with Cheese Sauce, Stir-Fry Mixed Vegetables, Goofy’s Cheese Pizza, assorted desserts, and an ice cream sundae bar.
Characters & Photos
Before you are seated you and your family can pose for a souvenir photo (you can opt out if you want). A print of the photo is brought to your table during the meal which you can purchase. This may be changing in the near future and all photos will be digital and a part of Disney’s Memory Maker service. If you don’t purchase Memory Maker you can use the My Disney Experience app and website to view photos taken by the PhotoPass photographers at Chef Mickey’s.
Chef Mickey’s features the Fab Five characters – Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, and Donald Duck. They will rotate through the restaurant and will meet with your family one at a time. It can take a while for them to make their rounds, so plan accordingly.
What Our Pilots Say
“Chef Mickey’s one of the only character meals that my family had yet to try, so I scheduled it on our Christmas trip in December. We had dinner there on one of our first nights, and we really enjoyed it. The food was much better than I expected it to be – HUGE selection. The character interaction was lots of fun. And we were seated by the window, so we had a great view as well! I’d definitely recommend doing this meal at least once. (We actually have breakfast scheduled with Mickey for later this year.)” – Heidi from Heidi’s Head
“One of my family’s favorite restaurants at Walt Disney World is Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary Resort. We try to get a reservation at this restaurant just about every trip. It is a hard reservation to get because guests are able to get pictures and autographs of the Big 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and Pluto), only have to wait around an hour to do, and they get to eat a meal while they wait for the characters to come to them.” – Tim from Dad for Disney
“We celebrated my daughter’s 5th birthday here for breakfast. The cast members sang happy birthday and gave her a delicious chocolate birthday cupcake! Very memorable experience and excellent character interaction!” – Hayden from Disney with Babies, Toddlers, and Preschoolers
